Searches on most on-line
databases cover only the
recent last 10-year period;
most databases purge
data older than that
as to save space.

Instead,
we compile collections
of the older (1900-1999) data
microfische and CD-ROMs.

-- Mostly for California --

Examples:

--California Voter Registrations 1970-1995--

In past decades, Voter Registration was the
#1 tool for locates and IDs used by CA PIs.

It gave full name, DOB, state of birth,
current and past addresses, and sometimes
also phone number and occupation!

Sadly, CA voter registration records after 1-1-95
became confidential statewide, every county.

Now, old Voter Registration is the ultimate
'starting point' for finding long-lost friends or
debtors that have completely 'fallen off the radar'.

And what a super-source for DOB verification!

Alameda County voters
1980s -- 1990s (on microfische)

Los Angeles County voters
1970s -- 1980s -- 1990s (on microfische)

Orange County voters
1980s -- 1990s (on microfische)

Riverside County voters
1980s -- 1990s (on microfische)

San Bernardino County voters
1980s -- 1990s (on microfische)

San Diego County voters
1990s (on microfische)

San Francisco County voters
1980s -- 1990s (on microfische)

San Mateo County voters
1980s -- 1990s (on microfische)

Santa Clara County voters
1980s (on microfische)

Ventura County voters
1980s -- 1990s (on microfische)

and statewide voters,
all counties at once, 1994 (on CD)

intial or a DOB solves the mystery.

--nationwide telephone identification CDs,
'PhoneDiscs' from several maufacturers,
1991 to 1999
--

Searchable by name, address, or telephone number

What businesses were at that address in 1994?
Who had that phone number in 1998?
Did his 411 listing in 1992 reveal
his middle initial or spouse name?

--birth records, 1900 to 1990s--

statewide California and some counties
(after this, birth records became very confidential)

--criminal, civil, marriage records, 1900 to 1990s--

Federal, and various states and counties

--real estate ownership records, 1970s to 1990s--

by statewide California and by CA county
by 'situs' (address) and 'alpha' (owner name)

--FBN/DBA records, 1970s to 1990s--

Fictitious Business Name / Doing Business As filings
various California counties
(before the Internet existed, most businesses
were 'local', and these filings were so important)

--criminal FILINGS, 1900 to 1990s--

such as
'Los Angeles County FELONY filings 1958-1977'
